# Governance

The social aspects of the organizational dysfunction experienced during the inclusion/renouncement saga pointed to a need for a better process.

At some point in the many-month process of helping get HOGE to a better place, the community organized the first-ever Snapshot vote establishing 

* a constitution
* a process to validate proposals with holders
* a semi-formal cohort of reliable individuals to navigate the issues and provide updates to the community

Community governance votes have been critical in supporting key OptiSwap R\&D efforts, through addition of user incentives, dev pay, and endorsement of new products. We are thankful to the HOGE community for supporting us as we worked on interesting problems.
