# Renouncement

At that point there was talk among keyholders about potential usefulness of the exclusion mechanism to enforce a balance lock on HOGE by creating a  huge cost to transfer.

The utter insanity of this idea created an implicit "threat from within" due to ownership of the contract.

The campaign to execute renouncement took longer. Individuals who have assumed authoritative positions are slow to act on any thing that feels like relinquishing relevance or power.

The narrative for the greater good was obvious and eventually executed.
